| It was my privilege during some fifteen years to be Missionary Superintendent. in Rhodesia for the Presbyterian Church of South Africa. The Bantu folk tales here recorded were made use of in teaching the Matabele as well as other Africans from north of the Zambesi. I found that my African congregations were very pleased to-have the Gospel illustrated in a way which they could understand and appreciate, and they were gratified that their own tales could be used for this purpose. As time goes on, more and more of the Africans are able to read, and they may find it of value to have the message in a written form. |
