This is the story of aviation in Southern Rhodesia up to1940. It begins with the construction, during the Matabele Rebellion, of a hot-air balloon in Bulawayo. It recounts the arrival and subsequent demise of the first aircraft to land in Rhodesia in 1920. It tells of the aeroplanes and the characters that flew them, their hardships and ordeals, their successes and failures and their innumerable crashes. It ends with the young men of Rhodesia volunteering to go off to war. Paperback, fairly good condition. A must have for any Rhodesiana collection.
