THE LOST RECORDINGS (1978). In 1978, Superintendent Derek Tasker, the Director of the BSAP Band, arranged for the Band to go into the studios of the African Service of the RBC and record a commemorative album of music. Sessions lasted no more than one hour at a time due to the air conditioning not being up to the task! Supt. Tasker's son was killed in the Air Rhodesia Viscount Umniati disaster and momentum of the recordings stopped. No album was ever released and the whereabouts of the original recordings was unknown. Now, thanks to Ron Wilken, the original RBC engineer, these recordings are now available for all to enjoy.
