In 2009 Hope Unlimited will be celebrating 20 years of working among the people of Zimbabwe. During that time we have seen the country go through growth and decline, famine and plenty and over the past few years an economic and social meltdown. Yet one thing is certain, that Zimbabweans of all races are a resilient and stoic people. They are warm, open hearted and very grateful for any help that is given to them.
We send on 100% of all funds received!
Over the past few years the plight of the Pensioners has become a major concern and we are glad that we have been able, in some small way, to help ease their condition. One of our very fundamentals as an organization is to never re-invent the wheel but to work with and support other organizations who are already "in the field." We are privileged to be able to work with a number of such organizations that have taken on the burden for the Pensioners in Zimbabwe.
We cannot fail to mention the efforts of Memories of Rhodesia and Lekkerwear, who have faithfully promoted the cause of the Pensioners and have themselves contributed faithfully to the need. But then there are so many others too numerous to mention around the world, who rise to the occasion each and every month. A Special Thank You to one all!
Since establishing the Zimbabwe Pensioners Fund we have been able to send tens of thousands of dollars to other organizations who make sure that Pensioners get the vital assistance they need. We send on 100% of all funds received. As an organization we absorb the various fees imposed by Paypal and Banks out of our General Operating Fund, making sure that every last penny goes to where it was intended.
Among the groups we have been able to assist are: SOAP in Bulawayo and Beit Bridge, The Mdala Trust in Cape Town, Renewal Fellowship's Pensioner Program in Harare, The Zimbabwe Pensioners Support Fund run by Hannes Botha as well as several individuals directly through our own connections.
Jesus took a little boys lunch and fed the multitude. What might your gift do?
It is only because of your support that we have been able to do this and for that I wanted to say "Thank You!"
At the same time I also want to make a special appeal to you for this fast approaching holiday season.
As Zimbabwe continues its seemingly never ending spiral downwards, the number of people requiring help is increasing! As costs rise due to the worldwide financial crunch, the organizations we work with find it harder to meet those needs. They are doing a sterling job but they need help.
Please consider making a special donation in the next few days to help.
To make it easier for you we have a Paypal account set up specifically for the Pensioners. However, if you would like to give by check, bank transfer or other means then just drop us an email and we will gladly tell you how this can be done.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all the best for the upcoming season and may the fast approaching New Year be a blessed and prosperous one for you.
Thank you
