| As the wall of the Kariba Dam rose in he late 1950's, so did the waters behind it, creating islands from hilltops, stranding thousands of wild animal and eventually over-running them. Facing mass destruction of the wildlife of the Zambezi Valley, the Rhodesian Game Department carried out a massive animal rescue and relocation program for several years. It was Operation Noah. Nothing on this scale had been seen before, or since, and it stands out as one of the great endeavours of modern history. This is that story.
The following books are also about Operation Noah: OPERATION NOAH Also: check out Free Library for information on CRACKERS - Rupert Fothergills dog.
