THE DEAFENING SILENCE
The downing of the Air Viscount Hunyani shook
the nation. Using an anti-aircraft rocket, ZPRA forces shot down the aircraft shortly after it took off from Kariba. The
pilot managed to land the aircraft, but several lives were lost.
There were a number of survivors to the crash, most of whom were then shot by ZPRA terrorists.
There was no outrage from the world, no sympathy - just a Deafening Silence; a term that found it's place in Rhodesian History after the sermon of Dean John Da Costa at the memorial service held shortly afterwards.
Rhodesia was quick to retaliate. Strikes deep into Zambia killed hundreds of ZPRA terrorists in their camps, whilst the Rhodesian Air Force's Green Leader shut down Zambian airspace.
The DVD & CD combo contains The Deafening Silence
Sermon, the Raids into Zambia, an Interview with a survivor, the Green Leader
audio, copies of The Rhodesia Herald and Scope Magazine.
